Computer is an electronic machine that is now used in almost all fields of life. It can be used to store, retrieve and transfer data, and a lot of other tasks can be done. Use of this machine has now become very common. Computer has reduced the need and cost of extra efforts and people to perform the list of tasks. It has assisted all business people to reduce their HR cost. One technical person can do the job of ten and even more people. All financial documents of a business can be well maintained by a computer operator. Computer basically works with the help of two distinct parts software and hardware.
Software is a program that is used to run a computer. These are intangible parts of a computer. A lot of unique and advanced software programs are designed to run the businesses. Hardware parts are the tangible parts of the computers. They can be seen and touched also. Monitor, key board, mouse are the basic hardware components of a computer. To increase the list of functions of a computer, more hardware components are used with computer, like printer, scanner, headphone, web cameras, speakers etc.
Now the question arises who make all these software and hardware components available for use. The answer is that people get specialized in software or hardware technology. Even more and more people can find their bright future in the computer careers. Now there is a need to get familiarized with the different careers in computer filed.

Software engineers
Software engineers are those highly skilled people who are responsible to introduce latest software to the business world and other users to perform their functions more accurately and effectively. Every new version of software contains more and more capability to perform different functions like operating systems, Microsoft office, database management systems etc. They design new software as per demands of the business, keeping in view the sense of the computer at the same time, as the computer language is different as compared to the language of a human being. They are responsible to convert the instructions into computer language.
As far as the earning perspective is concerned, this is most promising career and people after this career earn both respect and money at optimal level. People in this field are quite satisfied with their profession. So new entrants may feel free to make their future in this filed, as software programming is growing very fast. More and more people can adjust in this field. Even now organizations hire their own software engineers to provide them with latest technology and sell their software to other organizations at very high cost.
Hardware engineers
Hardware engineering is another filed in computer world. These people are responsible to provide the users with more advanced technology. These people may develop new hardware, repair the old ones, or make improvements in previously in practice technology. For instance, different monitors are available in market. Every new monitor has more functions as compared to the old one. More and more advanced technology has been introduced in printers and scanners. Mouse and key boards are available with more functional capability. This all is the result of the services and efforts of the hardware engineers.
This career is also making progress day by day. Hardware with more advancement is required to run the latest software. This career demands most technical minded people with more creativity and technical knowledge.
Users of Hardware and Software components
Besides computer hardware and software engineering, this field contains greatest importance in it. Once the hardware and software components are introduced, the next issue is who is going to operate these components in the best interests of the business or organization. Therefore people having skills to handle these components are appointed at high positions with higher payments in the organizations. Every low or high scale job demands the candidates with basic skills to operate computer.
If a bird’s eye view would be taken on the requirements of the appointing heads, every body will demand a person with computer skills even for entry level jobs also. People who operate computers and handle different software are awarded highly. So if an individual do not feel any interest in engineering, can’t happily join this field. All organizations prefer candidates with high computer skills, so this field offers a large capacity for the new entrants.
Willingly or unwillingly a career seeker needs to include computer skills in his/her job profile or resume. Therefore every one should learn the use of computers according to their needs and interests, like banker, doctor, teacher, engineers, accountant, receptionist, sales people, marketing personnel, etc.
